About the destination

Sucre, one of Bolivia's capital cities, is situated between the Altiplano and the lowlands. The city boasts pleasant weather all year round. It is renowned for its stunning white houses in the downtown area. Plaza 25 de Mayo is the heart of Sucre, encircled by the Cathedral, the regional government office, the Alcaldía, the historic Casa de la Libertad, and a variety of restaurants and bars. All buildings in the city's central core are either whitewashed or painted white, earning Sucre the nickname of the White City. The most notable attractions include the Museo Charcas, located in the former Inquisition Office, the Cathedral, the University, the Oratorio San Felipe de Neri, and the Franciscan monastery of La Recoleta. Sucre is a truly beautiful city with a magnificent cathedral and a wide range of stunning colonial buildings. A stop in Sucre is definitely worthwhile on your journey through Bolivia.
