About the destination: Panama City is the capital of Panama. It's a very cosmopolitan city, with a modern and western feel, yet it proudly showcases its Hispanic and Indigenous roots. In recent years, Panama City has emerged as a significant center for international trade and banking. It caters to every interest with its variety of museums, excellent restaurants, and numerous places to dance and enjoy evening entertainment. Panama City boasts a picturesque and intriguing Casco Viejo or Old Town, filled with stunning colonial architecture. El Casco Viejo is a delightful neighborhood, perfect for strolling through its historic streets adorned with beautifully restored colonial architecture, churches, and squares. Its charming cafes and restaurants blend seamlessly with the remnants of bygone times. The Cathedral, the Interoceanic Canal museum, and the History Museum are located around The Plaza de la Independencia, the city's main square. Numerous other churches, museums, and historical buildings are situated in this area, just a few blocks apart. The Palacio de las Garzas, the residence of the country's President, is two blocks to the north. On the east side, you'll find Plaza de Francia and the beautiful promenade known as Paseo de las Bovedas, offering fantastic city views. The incredible Panama Canal, regarded as one of the world's greatest engineering feats, is undoubtedly the main attraction for all tourists visiting the city.
