The Metropolitan Cathedral, located opposite the Plaza Juan de Salazar, has seen better days, but it still ranks among the more appealing places to visit in Asuncion. Asuncion is charming and colonial. The locals are incredibly friendly, and there's a peaceful and serene atmosphere in the warm and heavy air.
