HOTEL INDEPENDENCIA
Hotel Independencia (INDEPENDENCE HOTEL) is located in one of the most representative buildings of the colonial architecture of the Historic city of Sucre .
The hotel is located few steps away from Plaza 25 de Mayo, with 23 years of life in the market, it combines the tradition of the XVI century house with modern and comfortable rooms where the details take the visitor back to the past and the personal attention creates an exquisite environment.
The building belonged to Don Pedro Anzurez Marquez De Campo Redondo (1538 - 1540).
By 1700, it was inhabited by various Governors of Charcas. In early 1800 it was owned by wealthy landowner Don Juan Joseph Gil.
Some researches also suggest that it belonged to Lemoine brothers.
Dr. Alfredo Gutierrez Valenzuela, inherited this architectural work of his father, Dr. Pedro Gutierrez, Minister of Justice and Development, and Colonization and War (1922- 1927).
By applying the tourist achievement parameters of architectural heritage, the aristocratic house has been converted into a four star hotel, a process that has meticulously respected the original architecture.
