About the destination

Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, doesn't attract many tourists, but it has enough intriguing attractions to make it worth a trip. The Pantheon is one of the most renowned places to visit in the capital. Situated on the Plaza de los Heroes, it is the final resting place of several military figures who perished in Paraguay's Chaco War. The most striking building in Asuncion is the Government Palace, which stands overlooking the Parana River. The Metropolitan Cathedral, located opposite the Plaza Juan de Salazar, has seen better days, but it still ranks among the more appealing places to visit in Asuncion. Asuncion is charming and colonial. The locals are incredibly friendly, and there's a peaceful and serene atmosphere in the warm and heavy air.
