The Treasure of Yucatán The Yucatán Peninsula is full of beautiful places and beaches that are always worth a visit, and one you’re sure to enjoy is Puerto Progreso in the state of Yucatán. Not many people know about this port, but it’s worth the trip because, besides being beautiful, there are plenty of things to do. Just half an hour from Mérida, this charming port is the weekend getaway spot for people from Yucatán. Since it’s so close to the capital, many locals have summer homes there, and visitors can easily rent a place. It’s a great destination to spend time with family and friends and forget about the stress of everyday life for a while.
