Guarujá is a municipality in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Its name comes from the Tupi language and means “narrow path.” MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Enseada: A huge beach and the most popular, typical destination for casual visitors. • Pitangueiras: One of the most popular beaches in Guarujá. • Astúrias: Pitangueiras’ “little sister,” separated only by a few rocks; a smaller, less crowded option for sunbathing and relaxing. • Tombo: A surfer’s paradise and one of the most beautiful beaches in Guarujá. It may not be suitable for swimming when the waves are very high. Usually less crowded, it’s an excellent choice for sunbathers. • Tortugas: Offers kayak, jet ski, and motorboat tours, as well as boat trips and opportunities for diving. • Pernambuco: A sophisticated and calm beach lined with beach houses owned by the rich and famous. • Perequê: A traditional beach featuring authentic fishermen’s villages.
